A82 Corrychurrachan | Resurfacing Improvements
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s road operating company, is set to start essential surfacing improvements on the A82 this month.
Overnight works are programmed to start on the A82 at Corrychurrachan, which is between Corran Ferry and Fort William, beginning Monday 27th May 2024.
The project will take place over 10 nights, from Monday 27th May to Friday 7 June between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00. No works will be undertaken on Friday or Saturday nights.
Amnesty periods will be in place throughout the night. Work on site will be temporarily suspended and vehicles will be escorted through the site at the following times: 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 2am and 4am.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A82 at Corrychurrachan will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“The overnight closures are essential to ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.traffic.gov.scot for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
